There is TONS Max2Play does that piCoreplayer doesn't. On the playback side: If you like using headphones it has crossfeed and a low pass filter. If you like streaming the odd song from an Apple device (I dont but visitors often want to) it has Airplay On the server side: It can access a samba share - which is just what I need because all my music is sitting on a NAS Apps other than LMS & Squeezelite: There is an opportunity to load all kinds of apps. The most material of these is Kodi. Hardware options: it is available for Odroid as well as RPi. Each to their own but Odroid make hardware that easily outperforms Rpi in terms of power, graphics, ethernet speed - eg C2, XU3 Yes the Pi ecosystemn walks all over Odroid, however if what you want is a powerful fast all in one single board music/media box, this single Max2Play OS means the reduced ecosystem is more or less irrelevant. I take your point that piCoreplayer has a MASSIVE advantage in that it is all held in RAM so there almost no chance of SD-card corruption on power cycling. Plus you can use any size SD card you like - it makes no difference. And you dont have to pay for a license to use an onboard DAC. So plenty of pluses there. It is like comparing a classic pared back 1960s Danish sofa with s a really plush chesterfield leather sofa. Both are really beautiful but they suit different needs in different places for different people. As for me - I use *both* - piCorplayer on an old RPi V1 Model B+ in the bedroom, Max2Play on an Odroid U3 with USB DAC in the loungeroom ------------------------------------------------------------------------ timmo11's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=63443 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105547 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
