Hi, I'm currently using the standard Synology LMS package version 7.7.3 on my DS1813+ (DSM 5.2). During my initial installation a couple of years ago, I manually installed lame, so I already have support for transcoding to mp3. Now I consider upgrading to 7.9.0. I've seen that it's available as a beta install from Synology. I have browsed through this thread and haven't understood what is the disadvantage of taking the easy path of installing 7.9.0 through the Synology beta channel as opposed to the harder path of installing the repack discussed in this thread. I realize that the Synology beta package did not exist until a few months ago, but now that it exists, is there a reason not to use it? Thanks
