I convert AAC to FLAC as I use a Receiver and it can't handle AAC obviously. I've never noticed a slowdown or pitch shift problem. I think the issue is PCM has nothing to indicate the sample rate so the playback devices can't switch to the 48KHz clock. FLAC on the other hand has metadata and can signal 48KHz so handles this fine. Is there any reason you can't use FLAC? It's lossless just the same as PCM so will sound identical, with the added bonus of a reduction in network traffic (which may matter with wifi). On the other hand re-encode to FLAC does use more server cpu so I can see it might be a problem on low powered servers. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Owen Smith's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=42371 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103312 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
