I have the same 48kHz --> 44.1kHz problem; the stream just runs slow to make the conversion to 44.1 rather than playing at the native 48kHz. I'm running LMS 7.9 on WHSv1.
Within LMS, you probably have AAC set to be converted to PCM on the server side. Changing this to native AAC will correct the issue.
