I've been using pretty common tracks to test this, tracks that are like
lots of others I've got. But I've had a breakthrough. What seems to
control this is having the Mix Variety set to 0. I don't think the
behavior is related to Squeezebox -- the MusicIP GUI was doing the same
thing, producing identical mixes of identical tracks time after time for
any given seed. When I tried a nonzero Mix Variety -- say, 1 -- I
started getting different mixes, both in LMS and in MiP GUI. Having
different Style values doesn't help; as long as the Variety is set to
0, the same seed produces the exact same mix every time.

I'd be interested to know if you find the same thing.

Do you happen to know what the difference is supposed to be between
Style and Variety?

Thanks for your help with this, aubuti!
