I also tried out the CustomScan alpha, so here's my feedback. I like that the scan info is in the settings UI now. However, there are two problems with it for me.
1. It seems slower than the released CustomScan (see attached picture) 2. Worse, none of my CustomBrowse menus work until CustomScan has completed, even if they don't reference CustomScanned tags. I only use CustomScan tags for classical music, so until know, I could browse my rock music (without duplicates, thank you!), in less than 5 minutes after initiating a scan. Now it takes half an hour before I can listen to Rock. It's possible that my perception of problem 1 is an artifact of problem 2 :) I'm not trying to be unduly complaining, just to give the most helpful pre-release feedback.
