With the release of 8.04 the other day I took the opportunity to migrate
my server from ClarkConnect to Mythbuntu and I'm still working through a
few issues, one of which is with AlienBBC:

Background:
- Squeezecenter (7.0 - 17793 - Debian - EN – utf8) installed using
apt-get after adding 'http://debian.slimdevices.com stable main' to
'sources.list'.
- Squeezecenter runs fine (user = squeezecenter)
- AlienBBC (alienbbc-linux-v2.00_7.0) extracted into
'/var/lib/squeezecenter/Plugins'.

AlienBBC appears in the squeezecenter menu, but when I click on it I
get:

'There was an error loading the remote feed for Alien BBC: (Unable to
open file '/media/music/playlists/alienbbc.opml')'

The log file (os.files, os.files & plugin.alienbbc all set to 'debug')
is attached.

It's creating '/media/music/playlists/alienbbc.opml' file as a
zero-length file which doesn't get filled with anything (should this
happen round about 'Plugins::Alien::Settings::importNewMenuFiles (82)
searching for new menu files to import'?).

My guess is that the error message appears because the file is empty
rather than due to permissions, since it succeeded in creating it in
the first place. ...but of course I could be entirely wrong.

I don't think it's an internet connectivity issue – I can listen fine
via (for example) the BBC Radio 4 link under 'Staff Pick' (wms
stream?).

I've run out of ideas – any suggestions?

Ian
