Changing tracks after the first song of the Connect session played,
resulted in no audio - despite the Spotify app showing the progress bar
moving. Have to end/discconect the Connect session and restart it to
play a different track.

I was playing Spotify Connect on LMS player 00:04:20:23:8d:5a
Squeezebox

Interesting all the entries for player aa:aa:8f:88:ff:8c AE-Bathroom,
this wasn't in active use. 

I wonder if connect can only handle one end player for LMS at a time. If
an LMS player other than the one intended for current playback, is
somehow initiating a connection, then you end up with some sort of race
condition causing experienced disconnects / disruption. Now no idea why
AE-Bathroom was trying to initiate a connection...
