WOW!  That is cool.  Congrats!  This idea has come up before, but no one
has done (at least that I know of) so must be something special about
the Gigaport eX, which I did not know existed until now.  I think this
multi-room player solution sort of a unique thing.  Do they sync well? 
In theory, you could have two of these for 8 sources, right?  SLX
supports up to 5 "extra" players for a total of 6, but that number was
arbitrary.  I could increase that to 1+7=8 if the need ever came along. 
This is really a cool solution, thanks for letting us know.

The solution to your problem would be to enable the "Wake Server"
option.  This will trick SLX into a wait loop for the server it thinks
it is waking.  I added this tip to the SLX help a couple versions ago
(under trouble-shooting).
