My main reason for liking all monochrome is that the icons always fit with whatever background colour is chosen - as they can be recoloured. Another reason for this is that initially I was just manually mapping a plugin's PNG filename to a material font icon or SVG icon - and some plugins use the main app icon as an icon for actions. I guess I could work-around that by detecting if the icon is used on the top-level, etc. My initial reaction was because this icon stood out like a sore thumb. I like consistency - so it should be all monochrome, or all coloured (where this makes sense)... I am leaning more towards this. Well 'Contacts' etc. from the Android GMail app's menu is monochrome. IMHO, that "BBC" squares would be too small for an icon (they do not have enough height in a blank square). Plus "BBC Sounds" is written in text under the icon. *Material debug:* 1.
