Thanks for the instant feedback. To my surprise I was just able install the 8.0.1_r16862 on 1 of my 4 devices (a Squeezebox radio). Only this single device has just offered the update splash screen after 2 days, despite the ongoing LMS checksum error, and while I have changed nothing in between.
