Still not able to translate to italian...
I detected the language using CURL, as suggested.

So the language code is "IT"
I put my translated fie "it.json" into folder
/Users/<myuser>/Library/Caches/Squeezebox/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/MaterialSkin/HTML/material/html/lang
and restarted LMS.
But I continue to see the plugin interface in English
