I think I probably caused that confusion based on a (mis)interpretation of an earlier spotty thread! Sorry. Anyway, in case anyone else stumbles on this: getting your own Spotify Client ID and increasing the LMS playlist length (settings->advanced->performance->maximum playlist length), if desired, does the trick!
