I can't answer all your questions as I don't know the intricacies of git. To install the APK you just turn on developer options on your phone, then connect it to your laptop via USB. Then when you build the app in Android studio, instead of using the software emulator, you select your phone as the target. It will then load the file on to your phone and you are done.
