@CParker
Thanks for the advice.

@CParker or @Gerrelt ... or Other Cognoscenti ;-) .
I've downloaded Android Studio for windows and have downloaded the
'Code' from the code tab.
And am compiling it as I type (just for the experience really).
Looking at the code tab it says "Latest commit ff5c61d on 9 Jul 2015"
so I think I may have downloaded source code from the 1.4.0 release.
Looking at the pull requests tab however shows #187 opened 17 days ago
by Gerrelt - "Player list now sorted case insensitive #187".
This is what I want.
AND ... looking at the commits, it says :- "Gerrelt committed 25 days
ago".
So I'm not sure what this means, does the downloaded source have the
modifications *OR* have they been committed to be assessed by the github
source maintainer (nikclayton) before being merged into a release ?
When I have the APK file ... :-
1. Do I have to have a rooted phone / tablet ?
2. Do I need to uninstall Squeezer before proceeding ?
3. Where do I place the file ?
4. How do I intall from an APK file ?
5. If they have to be merged, do I have to merge Gerrelt's bits in
myself ? How do I do that ?
6. I also have an 'old' Amazon Fire 8.9 that is basically just used as a
house remote - Any special considerations when installing to that ?

Sorry but Never done this before ;-))))
