there is a webpage maintained by a gentleman called Paul Wise/pabs which also has loads of interesting URLS to projects. See https://wiki.debian.org/PaulWise/InterestingSoftware We could look at some of the last 10-15 ones as it's a humongous list which just keeps on growing.
