Following areas where OpenSUSE created problem (fixable)

1. It does not correctly detect the disk geometry in first go.  So one
has to rescan the disk geometry to get the correct partitions and
their sizes.
2. if for some reason you want to abort the installation (Live KDE CD)
then you have to click abort, no. of packages select times 3, times to
really abort the installation.

Everything else is okay by standard when i was doing full installation
of OSUSE for the first time.  Last 2 times (9.3 & 10.2) i gave up
after facing problems.

So an overall pleasant experience...

I think Mandriva could learn a trick or three from OSUSE :-)
