Whenever you install updates (assuming you are using apt-get), the debian packages (.deb) are cached locally in /var/cache/apt/archives unless and until you do apt-get clean. You can copy these deb files to your friends computer and install them all with command 'sudo dpkg --install *.deb'. Make sure you copy all archives as some may be dependent on other. I have shared the updates in same way between my PC and laptop.
