Thanks for bringing up the issue, I have smae porblem in MDK10.1, But I didnt care as I was gona install Mandriva2006 in very near future. But my linux is getting slower by the day. Being Novice I ignore such probs.
I use to curse MS in past for same prob and knew it was due to MS Registry file swelling up. Hence I was happy after I heard that in Linux there is no Registry file that would swell up eating memory. But I am writing this to thank you. Because of U I know about Genome System Monitor. I killed two Evolution mega processes, that sped up things a bit. I am not using evolution Yet its eating up 100s of MB memory ? There are other processes eating large amounts of memory that I have no idea about ? > > From: Rohan Dighe <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > i am using fc3, now-a-days i observe that my system > resources become > full and then the processor becomes too busy doing > something it > shouldn't > when i looked into the system monitor > i found that this program gst-thubnail is eating up > all thre resources > like it was taking 800+ mb of memory. > when i killl that process i am back on track and the > processor usage > again gets down to 5-6% does anyone know abt this > stuff. Thank You > PS:- Hope i don't have to reinstall stuff ! > This happens everytime i use linux i have to kill > that process everytime ! ____________________________________________________ Send a rakhi to your brother, buy gifts and win attractive prizes.
