Thanks for the correction, I understand now.  

I bought the December issue of PCQuest which also contains a DVD with 
Debian Sarge.  Is this the same version as Pranab is offerening?  If 
it is then is there a lot more sofware on the 9 ISO's (binaries) 
than on the PCQ DVD? I looked in the DVD and could not find 
information about which release it is - other than "sarge".

So is it possible to install it since one of the ISO's is corrupted?  I
am not just curious, I have been keen on getting Debian to install for
quite a long time.  

I had not installed the stable version (woody r1) since I understood that 
it lagged far behind other distros (I don't mean to put it down, maybe
that was just my ignorance) and I had a very limited internet
connection.  I now have a second (internet only) telephone line and I 
feel much more comfortable tackling debian since I now have some years 
of linux experience. One of the first distro's I tried to install was 
Debian potato about four years ago, but I never got it to work.  Gus.
