Hi Kapil, SuSE detacted my modem. I gave my user name, pwd and ph no. in the window during the installation. Then I tried to connect, but in vain. After the installation, when I try to connect to net, it tells me to check whether I am the user of the group dialout. Will check that out later. > But before that, make sure you have installed the > modem drivers. > If you are using internal modem, like say > conexant(d-link) HSF modem, > you can try to download drivers from linuxant.org or > look at > linmodems.org I cannot download since I cannot connect to the net. Btw. Kapil, the SuSE you gave me is too good. Except for the internet, I am using Linux full time to listen to songs and watch movies and open my MS Office files. Infact Kaffeine is the only movie player that I know which allows the user to take a screen shot of a frame of the running movie. I also liked the database that came as the office tool. I think it will be polished in another year or two. Will check whether such thing is present for MS windows or not. There's a small irritating message that appears everytime I start linux. It says that the goemetry of my monitor is not set. My monitor is 17" LG Flatron E700. My screen resolution is 1024 X 768. Everything is seen perfect. But this message persists. I just have to say no. But it irritating nonetheless. ~A. ___________________________________________________________ALL-NEW Yahoo!
