Agreed, but in both cases you are commiting a crime unless the authors allows 
copying of their works.

How very different is that from using software for sometime and then going in 
for upgrades/updates ?? Also, have you heard about the 'software as a service 
business model' ??

In any case all this is not related to Open Source Software. We are drifting 
into the business models for the software industry in general. I hope you 
understood the point about how OSS does not mean hungry programmers.
