In linux, nomenclature is different. Its not C:, D:, etc.
To install, you need unallocated space on HDD.

Knoppix, Debian, Fedora/Redhat, Mandrake, ... :)

Which version on knoppix you are trying to install?
in 3.4 and 3.6, have a look at 'knx2hd'
