I don't think it will make a huge difference to merge it with #595112 and its duplicate, but sure, if you prefer that, we can do that.

Personally, I would have preferred to keep this bug report assigned to network-manager-gnome and have it blocked by #595112 if there is a realistic chance to have a fix for #595112 in trixie. But since it's unlikely that this issue is addressed in dpkg any time soon, once the fix becomes available, it is no longer relevant for network-manager-gnome, as I plan to drop this transitional network-manager-gnome package in trixie+1.

Sorry, I know this is disappointing.
