Blender (my main package involved in libav/ffmpeg fight) has been adapted by kind upstream developers in BF to work just fine with libav, while they're mainly supporting ffmpeg as primary A/V tool. At this point, the switch to ffmpeg could help avoiding all the trouble in porting the upstream changes to allow the build on libav-based systems. So, while I was happy with libav for its stability, I could appreciate spending less efforts in getting things work and use the saved energy to improve the packaging, hopefully. Just my two cents on the topic. Cheers. -- Matteo F. Vescovi || Debian Developer GnuPG KeyID: 4096R/0x8062398983B2CF7A
