Package: vlc
Version: 2.0.3-2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,
I get no audio if I play any media (video files) and do play, pause
and then play. I have tried playing the same media across different
players for e.g. dragon, totem etc. and this is the only one where I
get such a behavior. Can anyone tell what the issue might be or even
how I could troubleshoot it further so we could upstream the
bug-report.

Looking forward to help.

This bug was discussed on our mailing list [1]. The problem was that vlc
was configured to use the alsa output plugin. The solution is to install
vlc-plugin-pulse and to use the Pulseaudio output plugin (Tools ->
Preferences -> Audio -> Output module: Pulseaudio audio output).
