How about I help you simplify a bit instead? :-)You need not work on a host running Debian: You can create and use a Debian Sid chroot on your laptop. Off course if you deliberately want to use a different (faster?) machine as build host it might make sense anyway (but if you - like me - like the freedom of working while travelling, you might want to instead look into ccontrol and distcc, building locally but optionally off-loading compilations to that faster machine - while keeping a local cache of its results).
What I point out is just that you need to do more of your work inside a chroot.
Also, you may want to include utils.mk (available in recent versions of cdbs) which handles dh-buildinfo and its build-dependency.feel free to do the change
