Yes, I'm using ubuntu/lucid on my laptop, which is the machine that I use for working on my source package. This is also the only machine that has a smartcard reader for my gpg key. From there, I ssh to a build machine running debian/lenny and build the packages in sid chroots. This approach works fine for all packages I've worked on so far. Please don't tell me that this doesn't work for jack and I need to work on some other machine on the jack package.
