kFreeBSD has no ALSA, but we conditionally include the resulting object files in debian/rules, so I hope the configure process will detect the missing build dependency and continue without ALSA on kFreeBSD and hurd. If not, we'll get an FTBFS and set the configure options depending on the architecture. In other words: I don't know if it'll break.
