Maybe you try on of these solutions: - Update MicrosoftVisualC Runtime - Update MDAC Components - Update Winsock Please tell us, which way you are using PHP ... As module, cgi etc. On which server ... I think on Win98 you use Apache. And last but not least, send us a script on which the server hangs.
