[PHP-INSTALL] php4 and apache2

in first place i'd like to apologize if this question have already been 
posted. my network haven't been able to reach php.net for the last two 
months (i don't know whi), so i couldn't search this on the archives.

the question is very simple:

as stated on the php manual at zend site, whi is it discouraged to use 
php with apache 2 on a production enviroment? what's the problem? 
stability? even using the last php and apache 2 version?
