Hi, I am using windows 2000 with Apache 2.0.36 I have followed the whole instructions of the online manual for PHP until compilation step. When I tested whether the PHP works fine with a test page containing <? phpinfo() ?> it worked without any compilation? Then, Why do I need to compile PHP4.2? Does it unleash the whole functionality? However when I made changes to php.ini like asp_tags ON, it did not reflect on the phpinfo test page. Why is that? I have restarted Apache in order to refresh any changes, but unsuccessful. I would be grateful if someone can help me.
