It is installed with the apache rpm, however, I couldn't get it to work right without compiling apache from scratch. I have found that it's a good idea to compile anything from scratch if it needs customizations ex. apache, perl, php etc. To be honest, it's a royal pain learning how to do this stuff, but once you figure it out, you can make it run like a dream and most importantly, it runs the way YOU want it to run.
