I have a server running Debian/stable. This runs Apache 1.3.9, with PHP 4.03
I needed PHP 4.06, so I downloaded the source, untarred it, ./configure, make, make install, just as the install doc tells us. After that I swapped my old php.ini file in /etc/php4/php.ini with the php.ini-dist file. Then I restarted apache. phpinfo() still tells me it is version 4.03. What could be wrong? Is phpinfo mistaking?
