Dear all, This term the Kant Reading Group will be meeting on Thursday mornings, 11-12:30pm, to explore how Hannah Arendt's turn to Kant shaped her thought on judgement, and how we might understand Kant's work on judgement in light of Arendt's thought.
The first meeting will be this Thursday, 10 October, 11-12:30pm in the Philosophy Faculty Board Room. We will discuss sections 1-3 and section 6 of Arendt's The Human Condition (that is, "Vita Activa and the Human Condition", "The term Vita Activa", "Eternity versus immortality" and "The rise of the social", or pages 7-21 and pages 38-49 of the University of Chicago second edition). All are welcome. Please let me know if you would like to be added to the mailing list for future updates - readings over coming weeks are likely to include an extract from Arendt's Some Questions on Moral Philosophy, from Kant's Third Critique on the theme of judgement and society, and from the Second Critique on moral judgement. We will also have a guest talk by Chenghui Ma (Fudan University and Mudanjiang Normal University). Please also let me know if you are having difficulties locating the reading. Apologies for any cross-posting, Sen Bhuvanendra PhD student, Faculty of Philosophy _____________________________________________________ To unsubscribe from the CamPhilEvents mailing list, or change your membership options, please visit the list information page: http://bit.ly/CamPhilEvents List archive: http://bit.ly/CamPhilEventsArchive Please note that CamPhilEvents doesn't accept email attachments.
