Sorry for the late notice, but the talk will likely be in the Boys Smith
Room, Fisher Building instead. I will put a sign outside to indicate the
change.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear all,

On Wednesday 19th November the Adams Society (mathematical society of St
John's College) is delighted to invite Professor Michael Potter from the
Faculty of Philosophy, for a mathematical philosophy talk entitled
'Arithmetic'. Please see the details below.

Arithmetic: "What are the natural numbers? Answering this question is
harder than you might think. I shall talk about an elegant answer given
by Richard Dedekind in 1888, a sense in which his answer was complete,
and a sense in which it wasn't."

Time: Wednesday 19th November, 18:00-19:00 (refreshments and snacks
provided from 17:30)
Location: Dirac Room, Fisher Building, St John's College

Please come along if you are interested - all of our talks are free for
everybody.

Omer Tastemur
Secretary of Adams Society
