Nah, I'm afraid not. We are definitely still seeing a lot of unexplained pg_ctl failures; as a recent example, http://buildfarm.postgresql.org/cgi-bin/show_log.pl?nm=axolotl&dt=2015-07-29%2018%3A00%3A19 Now maybe that's not the same thing as hamster's issue, but there's still something funny going on. That's why I've been bitching about the lack of debug information.
