Yeah. I'd try not to meddle with stable branches more than necessary, and the removal of the part for get_current_compression is just a cleanup so I would just do that on HEAD and be done with it. About clear_options, my take is to remove the check on HEAD, and to apply Daniel's patch on *all* stable branches because I think that we should not break the business that happened with NetBSD 5 on already released branches.
