I downloaded wxWindows-pgAdmin3-20031010-7.tar.bz2. But I just noticed that if I invoke gmake, I'll get the compilation running. So I had a version of make not understanding the Makefile built:-( For the time being I am satisfied, the error was mine (though it could be good to make sure to use gmake if it exists?).
I don't quite understand what you did, did you run ./configure appropriately before making?
