Hi. It's not something strictly related to Linux, but more hardware. We have a Dell Server Power Edge SC1420 with a raid controller PERC320/DC. The raid is set as RAID 5 with 4 HD.
As it happens, one of the disk failed and now the array is degraded. We have bought a replacement for the failed HD - same model - but when I remove the old hard disk and added the new HD, the array does not see the new disk, therefore I cannot rebuild the array. I have even ordered a new HD - just in case the first replacement was faulty - but I had the same issue. Any idea apart from wreking the b**& machine? Thanks. Michele
