As an EU citizen you're entitled to work here as far as I know - see https://www.gov.uk/legal-right-to-work-in-the-uk UK school leaving age is 16 so if you were a native you could have left school last June and be in a job. Inexperience and lack of qualifications may not put you at the head of the queue but you aren't barred from working.
