In the Windows world, I only reccomend 64bit if the machine has over 3GB of RAM and running 64bit apps is absolutely essential. Genreally, 32bit machines are more compatable. I use Windows 7 x64 and ive had no applicaton issues. 99% of home users dont currently need 64bit. I've used both 64 and 32 bit versions of Linux and have never had any issues what so ever. I even noticed a slight performance increase. Especially on more intensive applications like mysql etc. All of my home machines run 64bit versions. (Even my Solaris boxes! :) ) Andy http://www.retrocomputers.eu _______________________________________________ Peterboro mailing list Peterboro@mailman.lug.org.uk https://mailman.lug.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/peterboro
