I'm assembling various spare parts into a working machine or two and contemplating what version of what OS to install. Leaving distro wars to one side, what do people think are the merits of using 64 bit rather than 32 bit versions ?
I note that the "default" Ubuntu download is 32 bit but having worked on a couple of retail PCs using 64 bit versions of Windows 7 I wondered if it was time to move onward / upward to 64 bit.
