I use a Huawei mobile dongle (on an Orange contract). It just uses a mobile sim for the connection - the sim can be used for voice and texts - but none are included in the mobile bb contract so it's very expensive.
So far as roaming goes - be careful! On my contract, Euro-roaming costs about £4.95 per MiB!!! And the worldwide rate is £6.95!!
