????? I have never had a problem or had any one else say thay have had a
problem with using digital cameras with linux. All the ones I have come acrose
have USB that when pluged in come up as a external drive. Or if thay have
memory cards there are pleany of card readers that work with linux.

Plug and play is not just in Windows. Infact the BIOS in moden PC's are PnP
so even if the OS is not (DOS < 6 and OS2 V2.1 are the only two I can think of
that had probelms) it can still work with PnP

Now yes I have always had problems with printting often having to wate meny
mounths for updated drivers before being able to use it with Linux or Mac. It
is beowend my understanding that one of the first forms of computer output is
still the flackest.

Can I add scanning?????

I think your missing the point. This system was/is not amded at thous who want
to lear more about computers. It is amed at thous who may just wan't to do a
very limited range of tasks (webserfing and e-mail). We don't all need or want
the all singing all dansing Swisse(sorry for the spelling I am dislex...) Army
knith (moulty tool) of computing.

(When I teach older people to use the internet, one of the comments I often get
why dous there have to be so meny things on the screen?)
