I also echo Lisa's words about this fantastic group. It's a click beetle (Elateridae). I've already found some in the museum where I work. According to Wiki: ‘Adults are typically nocturnal and phytophagous, but only a few are of economic importance. On warm nights they can enter houses, but they are not pests. The beetle larvae, called wireworms, are generally saprophagous, living on dead organisms, but some species are serious agricultural pests and others are active predators of other insect larvae.’ I hope I've helped. We found this fellow in a sticky trap near a door to storage area, and having trouble identifying it as many distinguishing features are hidden. In other traps around this building, we have been finding a few types of minute scavenger beetles (esp. dienerella filum), but this one doesn’t have the same cinched in ‘waist’ that they have.
