Definitely a conifer seed bug. They are not really accidental visitors...they
venture inside to overwinter. Not in the same numbers as multicolored Asian
lady beetles, brown marmorated stink bugs, or boxelder bugs, but common enough
to be considered seasonal invaders.

Subject: [PestList] Pest ID- western conifer seed bug?

Hello all,

Wanting a second opinion! We found this wandering the galleries. I'm fairly
certain that it is a western conifer seed bug. We're surrounded by a pine
forest so it would have plenty of food, and I think it's just an accidental
visitor. Does anyone agree or have a differing opinion? (Apologies if the
image is a little low quality. It's actually alive and won't stop moving in the
bag long enough for me to take a picture with my dino lite) Thanks very much!
