I'm fairly sure this is the woodlouse *Porcellio spinicornis* - a European
species which has been introduced to North America.
The species is associated with calcareous conditions, and is often found
where lime mortar has been used in walls or buildings. Oddly enough, it
seems to be more than an *accidental *visitor - at least in Norfolk (UK) it
is regularly found in Museums in the county. Sadly, they usually end up as
desiccated bodies, so it's difficult to know why they come indoors, but
they've been doing it for forty years in Norwich. Other species of
woodlouse in the surrounding gardens stay outside.
