Hi James
These appear to be cocoons of *Phereoeca uterella*, the Household
Casebearer Moth. The caterpillars generally feed on silk (of spiders or
other moth cocoons), but they also feed on wool and hair, so can be a pest
in some collections. It's possible they are doing no damage, but clearly it
would be prudent to check all susceptible objects. The cocoons are fairly
obvious, so any infestation should be readily spotted.
