That's rather disingenuous, since perl does not use parens for
the same purpose English does. Parens are necessary in a programming
language to override the default precedence. (Wouldn't it be nice
if we used them in English for that. Alas.)
"Meaning" is not "increased". Whether readability is enhanced
is debatable. I tend to think not.
